BACS Transfers INTO Icesave
Comments
-
I had a regular monthly payment going in on the 7.10.08, it is showing as processed but has not cleared, in fact the Icesave account has not been updated since the 9.10.08. Icesave seemed to think it would clear, the originating bank thought it might be in a holding account somewhere.
Has anyone been able to find out where this 'in transit' money is??
It may be possible to activate the direct debit guarantee but no-one seems to know
Anyone else feeling like the rat joining the sinking ship? :rotfl:0 -
I'm waiting for a call back from Bank of Scotland who are doing a BACS trace on my payment, I'll let you know what happens when (if) I get called back.0

At my request, Leek United Building Society sent a BACS transfer on 6 October to my account in ICESAVE. They have had no monies returned, but are looking out for it. They sent it to:
Sort Code 20-32-53 Barclays London Correspondent Banking Branch
Where Icesave tell you to send it. Tel: 0208 8161 223.
I rang Barclays and they refused to tell me if they had received it or sent it back to Leek. They just won't say ANYTHING!!!
I will post any progress I make and will watch this forum for any progress anyone else makes.0 -
Bank of Scotland have said that it can take up to 14 days to do the trace and even then all it will be able to tell me is where the money sits, i.e. the sort code and account number. Bank of Scotland also think that the Barclays account used by Icesave has been frozen by the Government.0

Hi Kenny
At least if Bank of Scotland could tell you where the money it that would be a help. My Building Society also think the Barclays account might have been frozen by our Government. I'll give it until tomorrow to see if it is returned and then I shall write to my MP. Don't know what good it will do, but it will make me feel better.
Have you got all the dates, statements and account numbers etc., recorded? I think we shall have to prove the money is ours in the end, but why should we have all this hassle?!
I wish Martin would read this and help us.

You can't log in on the Icesave web site now, so you can't see if payments have been made. I have at last spoken to them and they say they haven't got the money that was sent from the Building Society either in my account or in a holding account.
Building Society this end are puting a trace on to see if they can locate the money. My guess it's in a frozen account at Barclays, but as soon as I hear anything I'll post again.0 -
I've just logged in & viewed my account with no problem.Littlelovely wrote: »You can't log in on the Icesave web site now, so you can't see if payments have been made.0 -
I'm so glad to have found this forum - have been checking the internet for people in the same boat as me for 2 weeks - i was starting to feel alone at sea!!
I too transferred over 6k the Icesave account on the 3rd October (stupidly). It has neither hit Icesave or been kicked back to my Nationwide account. Nationwide have sent a trace on the payment although said it will take 10days. I will update the forum on their response. They did advise that HSBC was the intermediary bank handling the BACs transaction.0 -
In exactly the same boat as you. Transferred into Icesave 1/10 and 2/10 showing up in Icesave as processed but not cleared. Can you let me know when you get any info and I will do the same. Mine was a DD from Icesave.0
