'T' letter 321/08 changed the entitlement from privately maintained property to privately owned property, so if you are renting you are no longer eligible.

Thats correct, as I'm in the same boat. However, my other half owns her house, my name is on the council tax but not on the mortgage statement so I now owe the RAF a nice sum of just under £400. That'll hurt over Xmas, just for a change.0
