Just reading the brief on GR for my job at a shop owned by a supermarket (it isn't a supermarket though!) and I've got to interact with SIX members of staff, remember their names AND descriptions. All for £10 fee + £1 reimbursement.

    Hmmm...is it worth it?

I suppose it'll pop my MS cherry...

You could always put £7 on red and £7 on black and £1 on zero, as obviously you get a much better return on zero, being a 1 in 37 chance and that way you definitely can't lose!

You can't do that with the freebie bet!

It's a £10 paper voucher, and the whole voucher has to go on either red or black. You can't put it on a number or do column or row bets. I went with hubby and we put one on red and one on black, so we got £10 in chips, and then we played the table games for a bit with those.

The casino we went to had a "play table" (the name is in the brief but I don't want to put it on here as it will identify the brand!). We were given loads of chips and could make various roulette bets and then the lady explained who won what and why! We played a few games of that until we got the hang of it. Hubby was chuffed as she let him have a go wih the ball :D
Here I go again on my own....

I want to post: NOOOOOO! Don't do it! Make GR realise they can't get away with such carp fees!

I sadly though, have to post: Go for it - it's probably one of the better fees you'll get and if you don't do it, someone else will!

Well my thinking was not to do it out of principle (I mean...SIX people!) but then that might put me further down the pecking order for future job offers, and also I've gotta do my first job sooner or later so I think I'll go for it, reluctantly...

on another ms company you are asked to talk to about 4/5 people. the first time i did it i spent ages trying to find people in the relevant depts. now if no-one is there i just say that on the questionaire and it skips those questions.

not sure if this works for gr.

Sadly I don't think the main companies think like this any more - they get the same crappy report filled out by two shoppers, one of whom is a long standing shopper who would used to have been well respected, the other a noob.

With margins tight (through their own making IMO), would they bother trying to find a MSing professional (who probably audits and the like, expecting a much higher fee) or would they just prefer to keep the fees very low and let anyone take it, bearing in mind the report's the same either way?

How does one get jobs doing the audits?

I did an audit for A this week and got paid £12. when I read the last page it said that if the display wasn't out please put it up and put all the items on it as well. This would have involved going to the stockroom, bringing up stock etc. I'm sorry but I'd already done the audit, there was no way I was doing manual labour as well. Luckily the display was out but you see my point!!
