Thanks Timmne - your post was really informative. Been looking at the companies you suggested and many of the sites don't give much info about where jobs are available, however I did find Customer Perspectives using a job board - www.myparttimejob.co.uk - and there they list where they have vacancies which was helpful. Just waiting to hear back on my application, so fingers crossed I'll soon be a Mystery Shopper!
No one does really advertise where their jobs are. There is a post listing where GFK are looking for shoppers on this page or the previous one. Most companies have jobs in most areas at some time or another as they all deal with big chains. Its worth signing up and then waiting to see what you are offered.

  • Obviously, approaching players is an instantly sackable offence....

I don't even have a TV, so I used to watch online or go to the pub to watch or at a friend's house. Now I have to sit in the seg line in the Anfield Road end and watch the game in person....what a chore!!

Naughty idea but...book a pub MS visit to coincide with a match. They if the MS company queries it, say "I'm really sorry but I am on (whatever) shifts at work, or I had problems getting a babysitter for other days, etc etc. I did that often but never got asked why I'd chosen a time when there was a game on even though they'd said not to...

PS I have to try not to cry when You'll Never Walk Alone plays. I stand there, biting my lip and blinking.:o

I wasn't really serious about the autographs :rotfl: I'd had a glass of wine and you know how it is, you say/type things you wouldn't normally dream of! ;)

However, I AM decidedly jealous of you! Just to be in the area must be fantastic, I can only imagine the atmosphere! I think You'll Never Walk Alone is an incredibly emotional and powerful song. Really annoys me when bloomin' ITV cut to adverts when I can hear it playing in the background!

We recently changed our tv provider to ntl/virgin and one of the included channels is LFCTV, so although I can't see the matches on Sky I do get to see the re-runs a couple of days later, and also there's loads of good programmes on there. I must have watched Istanbul - the Fans Story about five times now!!!

Anyway, just to keep this on topic ;)... that's a good tip about getting a pub job for a match night. I hadn't thought of that. I did see one up here for a match night, but it was an Arsenal match (I think) so doesn't interest me in the slightest - but I'll keep a look out!

So do I - and I'm an Evertonian!!!

My husband's a red though, and we have some arguments in this house.

At least I used to go to the match though (in my younger days). He's never been to one!

Even though we live in Glasgow now, we look for their results on a saturday!
    ;)
  • I've been offered work at Everton too but I hate Z cars!! LoL.

I love my job at Anfield as I basically get to sit during the match and I get to see it. JUst damn hard not to laugh at rude songs, cheer when Liverpool score, or cry during You'll never walk alone. The more fans join in with the tape, the more it gets to me...
  • Tilly, in terms of SPL, I support Celtic; I work up there too sometimes.

I'm off out now to do 3 MS jobs for £55.

Oh, those were the days! When they used to come out of the tunnel and I'd be humming along to Z Cars!!!!!

Your song is much better though.................

Off to do some work now!

Aw naw. There I thought you were such a nice intelligent poster. But in the spirit of the forum I extend to you my sympathy on the 3 going on 9 humping you got last night at OT, but if your really nice to me I can pass on some tips on winning CL away games. Lucky you though..we got humped out by Kaunus ( a pub team):rotfl:

I am only joking of course.

  • LoL HP. It's ok. I have a worse confession; my favourite London team is QPR and in terms of Championship, they're my team.
  • Hi everyone, I have a few questions about mystery shopping (and in particular TNS) that I need advice on.

I've just applied for my first visit and it's been allocated (appearing in the my visits section of TNS). On the brief it mentions purchasing alcohol beverage along with "other products of choice." Does this mean that I am obliged to buy other items in addition to the alcohol? It also mentions "You can take a maximum of 10 visits /7 per day." I don't understand what this means, the time allocated for the visit is only a few hours?!

Also, I haven't applied for self employed tax yet (as this is my first MS job.) Can I wait until after my first payment to do this?

    Sorry for all the questions!
