Has anyone signed up with Market Checker? I received an email from them for what looks to be cinema jobs and wondered if anyone has experience of them?
Looks like they do other things from their site but still I'm intereste in hearing thoughts before I sign up.
    Thanks

Did a job for MC a few months ago - they were very good. Q'airres quite easy, no probs with communication or pay. :)

IMHO the RE gym job was easy and the brief told you it would be a 12 month contract.

The contract you signed at the gym was an annual one. To cancel you had to give three months notice. viz at the 9 month period (remember that for your circumstances) you cancel the 12 month contract.

To be a good Ms agent you need to read and understand the briefs thoroughly.
Also the employees of the place you are Msing should not know what you are doing.

Hopefully the TNS\Gap jobs etc are simple.

I did not have to call RE at all for the gym job. Maybe I was the only one to understand the job?

    BIG Tip
If you ever sign a contract-read it first, especially the bit about cancellation.

Blindman oh how I agree with you, At least you tell it like it is.

I think you all know how I feel about RE. If all MS companies were like them we would be paying to MS.

And as one on the forum who is usually the joker I have to say Mimi I have no
sympathy for you. Because despite this you still name RE as your no 1 MS company.

I got an email from RE a while back letting me know they knew what I was saying about them on this forum as they knew now the name I use with them which is not the name I registered with them.

At least those of us who have had the guts to refuse their ridiculous scenario of purchasing hay fever tablets have got our reward...they are now in the new wave of pharmacy visits letting us purchase what we want.

Can I just ask, are you always this smug and patronising?

    No, just honest.

Some people come on here to ask a question and are not happy unless they hear what they want to hear.

I did give advice to mimi1234 if anyone actually read the post.

    Repeated here :

If she(?) goes through life signing contracts without reading them then she is in for a BIG (financial) surprise and disaster.

The gym contract needs 3 months notice to quit. Therefore she (?) needs to make sure to write and cancel this membership at the 9 month point. Which from the facts she gave is April 09.

    FACT
If she(?) has already done 3 months we RE then the rest of the contract is only 9 months to go so will cost around £500. A large sum of money but not the £700 she quoted.

Look on the bright side, you may get fit and meet new people.

Sorry if this is not in cotton wool and hugs or not what you wanted to hear.
  • Is anyone else doing telephone calls for GfK to a large official type organisation? I'm having problems with the test and can't figure out why. I'm sure I've got all the answers right but it says I haven't! Help please!

I'm not but at times it's best to ring Gfk and explain the problem. They may know about it and tell you the answer!
  • Hollypear, I understand your point with the low rates we can get for MSing but I don't do it to get rich, more to treat myself. I'd never usually spend money on a pub lunch for myself as I am on a low income. So I like the chance to get a "free" nice meal once or twice a month (as is the amount I tend to find on RE) and the odd little other treat here and there, and the fee covers my travel and printing so it's all good. RE is not predictable enough to rely on anyway and as I don't have my own transport, I cannot cover that wide an area anyway.

    No

    You have a PM ;)
  • Have just had an email from gfk asking for people to refer friends to become mystery shoppers. Only people between 18-40 and only in certain postcode areas. I've put a thread on the referrals board, but if anyone is interested in letting me refer them, please PM me or take a look at the referrals board.

Thanks. Hope it's ok to mention this on here.
