    Hey,

Im just signing upto companies to be a mystery shopper but feel slightly daunted by the 88 pages of thread so far!

How many companies can you work for? I am a little concerned on the having to pay out first and then getting your money back, im on a very low income to start lol!

    Can you claim travel expenses?

I read the first post, but any extra pointers & tips would be gratefully recieved!

    Cheers

You can "work" for as many companies as you like - for the vast majority you're self-employed anyway, so are doing jobs free-lance for them.

If you read the first post on this thread it will tell you most of what you need to know about travel expenses ( you can use them to offset your income, so pay less tax) and about who to sign up with etc.

I've just got in (I had 9 jobs to do today:p) and I'm gutted that I missed out on the hotels and restaurants on RE. Either they've all gone or they didn't show up for me in the first place:(
  • Just saw a lovely meal out (no fee paid) on RE near us for tomorrow, shame we didn't have a babysitter, refreshed the page and it had gone!

What is the best perk people have had MS'ing?
We've had a few 'experiences' which would have cost in excess of £100 but always find that in order to complete the assignment fully we end up having to spend way in excess of the expenses+fee paid. They also took all day to do but the fee would still only be about £10. Still worth it for the perk if it's something you'd like to do.

My best 'experience' was a casino job, where we got a meal & drinks paid for, and we won on the slot machines - coming away with £100 clear profit!!

    Is RE broken again?

I've got a shop I did yesterday that I need to report. I couldn't get on the site last night, and I can't get on again this morning.

I've already lost 2 points as I was supposed to do the shop on Thursday, but we had 6 inches of snow here. It was blowing a blizzard and I almost got stuck in the snow on an untreated road, so I thought it was safer to turn round and go home, than keep driving.
Here I go again on my own....
  • I could get on last night but have being trying for about 3/4 of an hour now.

I have 2 which stand out over the years -

One was a win on the Irish Lottery I got when i did a bookies job - £586 win for a £3 bet. So was quite chuffed and went to buy a new LCD Telly. Went to en electrical retailer that I also MS's a lot to buy the TV - I can safely say they knew who I was. So, bought my TV - 26" and found they had given me a 32" one instead at no extra cost ... maybe it was all the previous good reports I did for them.

My second perk is doing a very plush hotel chain, which i do reasonably regulalry to this day - Regular budget is nearly £300 and even I struggle to spend £100 on dinner and drinks on myself at them - but I do enjoy that job when it comes up ....
