Well not that I would ever go on about the lack of jobs avaailable to me but I always find it hard to get any...

I reckon thats because the rest of the Glasgow area lot have ganged upon me and keep nicking them before I can. You know who you are lol

Anyway, my nightmare shop yesterday has not been questioned as yet and I can't quite believe it. I spent all day checking my mobile incase it wasn't working.

SC - for tax purposes the expense must be a genuine business expense for you to claim it in your accounts. So if the company ask you to buy xxx and don't reimburse the actual amount it costs. Then for tax purposes you have made a loss on that job. The food ones are the best for this. Although if you do one where you leave a tip, then unless the company say you must leave one the tip is not a genuine expense and the taxman will not allow it.

Thanks for that! The ones I am talking about are where they pay a set reimbursement but it doesn't cover the cost of what they tell you to buy. As I said before, if you don't buy the specified items you don't get paid at all. I'm not talking about tips, just the actual items you have to buy, as specified in the assignment notes.

I can certainly see the logic in only being able to claim the reimbursement amount on those jobs where you are told to buy whatever you like but spend 'around £5', but it's a different matter for these food jobs. I think they're mostly the ones you take as a newbie where there is still a bit of a thrill in the thought of getting part of your meal paid for! That's beginning to wear off now!
  • Hi if say I get £20 to spend on food but no fee what happens about tax, would the taxman still take money from me for the food??

Also!! Does anyone know when TNS pay?
