What is important for security is that the safe is not in an obvious position and that it will be difficult to work on in the position that you put it.
It might be that it will be a little difficult for you but a lot more difficult for someone else to get into.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
Is putting it in the loft a good idea then?0

Why not. If it is rings or other solid jewelry you could put them in a plastic bag in the water cistern or bury them in the garden.
I believe the word Bank came from the habit of hiding valuables in the bank on the side of the road before you went into a strange town or village.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
We've come up with a cheap and novel way of safe-guarding our savings.
We are feeding all our bank notes to the cat, and storing the resulting effluent in sealed bins.
Once the financial crisis is well and truly over, I just need to track down an efficient Cathasshitit Converter to restore our wealth. :rotfl:

I pity the cat that has to process your savings portfolio.0

I have a safe, key locked, nice and heavy and bolted to the floor in the cupboard. Got it off eBay summer last year. I keep all my important documents in it along with my regular savings passbooks and cash cards etc. I never keep cash in the house apart from the few pounds I have in my wallet and I have no jewellery.
