Normally I would agree... but I paid for something and got nothing!

they wont respond to emails or answer the phone in store so I guess my next step is s75 of SoG's and call my credit card

Its actually section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act.
  • So it is, thanks!
  • So I've emailed MFI customer services on Friday morning and again this afternoon and had no response, I've called the store - no answer, customer services - no answer, the number for sofa enquiries - cuts me off straight away, called the sales number and after 20 mins the guy got me through to customer services where I spoke to some guy who sounded half dead and could barely make out a word he was saying, managed to figure out he was saying he didn't have any informtaion on the whereabouts of my order and told me to call some other number, I asked him to repeat the number several times, went to call it and it was an unrecognised number.
I give up, I've called my credit card who are sorting out dispute forms and have asked me to send them a letter detailing the whole situation - as usual a wonderfully polite woman from Bank of Scotland made things so very easy for me. I swear, if you're ever having a bad day, call Bank of Scotland or pop into a branch, tehy seem to employ the most lovely, happy people! And no I dont work for them!
  • I have the phone number for the head office delivery centre or look on the net for direct home deliveries (type in DHD and it should come up) try phoning them thats what eventually got our sofa ,still no reply about the hole in my sofa yet!
    Hope this helps

Thanks! That's the number the moron I spoke to last night gave but, but he gave me the number for Commercial Sales, he did give me the number that's on the site but it's not (well wasn't last night) recognised when you call.
I'll try ringing the delivery one. Fingers crossed!
  • Called them, they have no record of anything from us as it hasn't goen from MFI to them yet, MFI say it has gone to them  we're going round in circles now!

we made the mistake of getting bedroom furnite for our girls 2 yrs ago, never again from mfi. Made for idiots is what we thought, it took 4 deliverys to bring 2 wardrobes, 2 chests of drawers and a small drawer unit. The doors never were the same colour so we ended up going to the store on a saturday and shouting for the manager, who quickly tried to escort us into his office. NO i want to discuss it here, so i yelled and then demanded my money back. Ended up with about half, sold the crap on ebay and went and got them else where. NEVER NEVER AGAIN and im glad the rip off company has gone up the swanny, trading like this shoudnt be allowed

  • I remember as a kid there being a joke song about MFI, they were a really laughable company (although I didn't know why) and that stuck in my mind. I remember the embarassment I felt when my parents bought me a full bedroom set from MFI...and I remember more recently this massive campaign they've had to stop going into liquidation, or whatever.

Strikes me they've always been crap. It stinks that customers are being treated this way, yet they're still here!
