buyes doesnt want item but shes told ebay she does

hi

I recently sold an item on ebay and a few days later received an email from the buyer saying she didnt want this item and her underage daughter had bid without permission.

I emailed her back saying thanks for letting me know and that i would inform ebay we had mutually agreed not to complete the transaction so i would get a refund im my fees via ebay.

she then told ebay she wanted to complete the transaction even though she doesent and sent me this email.

Well You can try and claim the fees back, but I won't paying them!! I did not give permission for my daughter to use ebay or to even bid ur product!! AND THIS IS WHY I DONT USE EBAY!!! such innocent people as my self come across peopple like you who we are the victims!!! I have been scammed so much on ebay its unreal HENCE why i DO NOT use ebay!! And here i am again been scammed out of money for your fees. Well three guesses to what you'll receive from me. once again (mother of Louise)

My question is Is there any way i can now get my fees back off ebay for the item.

I also sent her an email back as i was a bit annoyed that she thought i was after money when i wasnt

thanks

To me, it sounds like she thinks that she will have to pay your listing fees. Maybe that is why she is upset?
Here I go again on my own....
  • hi

I did explain to her fully that ebay repay the listiong fees and final value fees and as she sells things on ebay she should know this. The first email i got from her saying she didnt want the item wasnt very polite either. Id just like my final value fees back from ebay and think ive been more than fair and as she has now told ebay she wants the item even though shes told me she doesnt looks as if i have lost out again.

Yes it sounds to me like she thinks she has to pay the listing fees. Just send her a polite email stating that she doesnt and this is the process you need to refund the listing fee to you from ebay.

I disagree with the other replies, sorry. I am making the assumption that to reclaim your FVFs you started the process by choosing the 'mutual' option, ie both you and the buyer agree not to proceed?

If you did that and the buyer has responded formally to ebay saying that they do want the item, or indeed ticked virtually any other option that ebay offered. then you have lost your FVfs entirely I'm afraid.

By trying to be a reasonable seller the buyer has taken advantage of you and there is nothing now you can do as you cannot restart the NPB process.

Oh, and incidentally, ebay do not refund the listing fees except in some cases where they are aware of a scammer targetting certain auctions. All you would have got back via the mutual option is the FVfs.

  • Thats a shame. Can you start the unpaid item process again against the same buyer?

Unfortunately you only get one go at the unpaid process, which is why choosing to be reasonable and going for a mutual option is often a bad idea.

Also by going for a mutual the buyer is still able to leave feedback, going through a straight NPB where the buyer does not respond means any feedback left by the buyer will be removed.

This is just another option of someone who thinks they understand the system screwing up and blaming others. That would just pee me off.

Why someone in that boat bothers to leave their account open, I just dont know.

Hi, Can't really help much with your situation but i just wanted you to know that i really feel for you. How nasty for the person to respond to you like that considering you had been nice to her all along.

  • hi

Just another quick question as the mother says she doesnt use ebay this must be her under age daughters account which is being used for buying and selling she has also got a few negs from people for buying items and then changing her mind is there any thing that can be done about the ebay account holder being under age.

    thanks
