If you get a magazine subscription as a gift, can the recipient tell it was 'bought' with Clubcard deal tokens?

I'd really like to do this for a friend, but wouldn't want them to know how I paid for it.

    Thanks

I'm using my Nov clubcard vouchers for a mag subscription, two maybe - nothing else interests me unfortunately (or I don't have enough points lol). Will have to be better about building them up next year and will join their xmas club.

  • My nephew saved up for a PS3, but unsurprisingly had no cash left for any games. I bought him £40 worth of Blockbuster credits with £10 worth of Tesco Clubcard vouchers, which I then put inside his card like a gift voucher (handy if you have to send presents to distant relatives in the post). He was delighted as it meant he got to try out all the latest games by renting them out, and could then decide which ones he wanted to save up and buy at a later date.

I also got a Country Living subscription for my Mum for about a tenner, a quarter of the normal price.

Just a word of warning to those spending £60 on boots to get the 600 points, dont bother.

The online shopping even gives you 1500 points when you spend £75

Just on the post about the upsy daisy bed. I bought this too but John Lewis online are selling it for £26.20 - nearly a whole £10 off! And the postage is free at the moment.
  • tesco have got panto tickets available with clubcard vouchers. Only 2 places -stoke and tyne and wear at the moment but make a nice xmas present if you live near enough.
  • Convert your Tesco vouchers into Tesco Clubcard tokens to spend at Goldsmiths. £200 is minimum spend so it you have £50 worth to convert, great. If not top up with cash. My local Goldsmiths doesn't carry much stock so I check their website to see what's available & they order it in for me. My daughters have had their Christmas presents care of Tesco's for the last 2 years!

  • ive never really understood how you pay for magazine subscriptions...if i were to pay with clubcard vouchers, do you pay the full whack in one go and what happens then after a year? do you get notified that it needs to be extended or do they just carry the subscription going? do you have to notify them that you want to cancel it? sorry to go on...ive just always been wary about getting them as i know id probably forget to cancel!!!! :rotfl:
