Need a 3k limit for purchase - best card to apply for?

Hi - I'm looking for a new CC which will offer me a limit of 3k as I need to make a purchase of 3k for some double glazing. Looking for a 0% introductary offer also. Not asking much!

Currently earnign 20k+, with two existing credit cards - Goldfish 8k limit (paid off each month) and RBS Gold 3k limit (0% offer expires March 1st and have a balance of £950 which I will pay off by then). I am also a home owner

I'm thinking Mint or HSBC....

It is very difficult (almost impossible) to predict credit limit. Cannot comment on Mint, but with regard to HSBC I have a feeling that they give low credit limits. See HSBC 9 months 0% Xmas Offer.
Nationwide offer 9 month 0% period on purchases too. The longest is 10 months Sainsbury's.

The SB Platinum has a minimum guaranteed CL of 3.5K (see website). I got the minimun in Dec/04, 4 months later they increased to 4.4K

I successfully got 3K (minimun guaranteed) from Ulster Gold. And recently 6K from TSB Amex (I bank with them).

MBNA-backed cards (MBNA, Virgin, Alliance and Leicester etc) tend to give higher credit limits than some of the others.
