Help...PayPal payment not showing up

I sold something yesterday and on the email I got from eBay to say it had sold...there was a button for sending the buyer an invoice. When I clicked on it, it took me to a page where it said 'This item is pending payment through PayPal'.

When I clicked on the 'View PayPal payment for this item', it took me to a PayPal page which said....'You have received a PayPal payment....complete this PayPal sign up form to claim your funds'.

As I already have a PayPal account, I logged in but there is no sign of any payment.

Help?

Errk....sounds like a very clever phishing email to me. Maybe originating from the buyer?

Log into your paypal account properly using a new window, what does the payment show as in there?

Oh don't say that!

I've just logged into eBay and gone through the auction page and it has the same 'Paypal payment pending message'.

Not quite sure what to do now.

I've emailed the buyer asking her to confirm she sent a PayPal payment but until she gets back to me...................?

Soo....logging into Paypal shows nothing at all.....no payment pending, no payment received , no increased balance....nothing.

I also haven't had any notification emails from Paypal either.

aliasjo, some users are reporting problems with paypal today, so go check your account as that will be more up to date than your ebay page.

I had a payment last weekend that didn't even show as paid until 36 hours after the paypal payment hit my account.

What happens if it's been paid but it's not showing up in PayPal......the buyer's going to be a bit fed up if she has to wait. I said I'd send it promptly.

You haven't *received* payment so the buyer can't get too upset. Email the buyer now and say that no paypal payment has been received by you, and if he believes he has paid he may need to double check his paypal account to see what has happened.

I wonder if he has paid to the wrong account, that would explain why he believes it has bene paid and why you haven't got payment. He has either tried to send payment manually and mistyped your paypal address, or he is scamming you. Either way it is up to the buyer to sort it out now and work out where he has sent the payment.

Until you see that money sitting in your paypal account don't send anything.

My friend had this problem, don't worry. Make sure you put the correct paypal email address on the listing. This is what the problem was for her. She mis typed her email and the buyer paid. We asked the buyer to cancel their original payment and resend it through a new invoice from her paypal account.

Don't panic, theres nothing fishy from the buyer if this is the problem.

Thanks everyone.

Couldn't settle so I phoned PayPal. Turns out the payment was sent to my old aol email address. So Paypal have advised to contact buyer and aske them to cancel payment and reissue to correct address.

Haven't had this aol address for nearly 2 years and I'm sure I've sold stuff on eBay since then so I don't understand how this came about.

I've been into my eBay account and it has my correct email as does the info in turbo lister which is what I used to upload to eBay.

Don't know where else to look?
