Not sure, there was a long thread on this in the past, some people don't like the sonic ones and prefer electric ones, there isn't much difference between the two with regards to quality of cleaning, but people who use sonic ones say that their teeth feel much cleaner.

We have a Sonic AND an ordinary Oral B electric, and NO, these brushes won't work properly on a sonic - sorry!

P.S. We bought our sonic when there was a thread here offering it for about £70. Not that long ago!!! We were pleased at the time, and still love the toothbrush, but now I'm spitting tacks :mad:

Oscillating /rotating Oral B is the best electric brush. Faster the better (they get faster as they go up in price).

Ultrasonics not as good, but OK.

Oral B brought out their ultrasonic toothbrush to compete at the Sonicare price level. privately they admit their (Cheaper) oscillating rotating ones are the best. Studies back this up.

The ultrasonics are nowhere near as powerful as the ultrasonic tool we use to clean teeth.

The Boots offer seems really good at the moment. Don't try for cheaper heads for the Oral B electric brushes. It's a sure way to ruin a good cleaning action. If you can get real Oral B heads cheaper - that's different.

Yes will work as Braun use the same toothbrush head for all of their Oral B brush range except for the ultrasound ones.

The toothbrush has gone up to £80 now!

I've had both, and I think they both have their pro's and cons, but the Sonicare heads are more expensive and they are a pain to keep clean.

You can now get 2 Extra heads for 4.99 or 4 extra heads for 9.99 from boots. They are about 1/3 off i think. They are real Oral B Heads too - they work on my 8500.

Also, spend 15 or more and get triple points.

It was the same offer at Sainsburys, but I guess the extra points make Boots the winner on spare heads.
