SAGA anyone?

Any comments on SAGA's online tracker account?
I see that it appears to be covered by FSA guarantees: "The deposit taker for the Saga Online Top 5 Tracker Account is Birmingham Midshires, a division of Bank of Scotland plc, which is authorised for accepting deposits by the Financial Services Authority."
Anything better for 'Silver Savers'?
Thanks

My only beef with the Saga one, is that the interest is paid into the nominated bank account, instead of being added to the deposit. Don't know why they do that....0

I applied online to open a Coventry BS 50 Plus e-Save account.
My gripe is that I didn't know, until I'd completed the online application form, that they required to be sent in the post -
A (printed off) completed application form containing all my personal and bank details.
Original ID documents - although on enquiry they said they would accept certified copies.
I'm not prepared to send these, even using recorded delivery. I will not leave myself open to identity fraud risk, however small. If this envelope were to get into the wrong hands - well
Norwich & Peterborough BS have a good e-Saver account and they can verify identity electronically, as long as you've been at the same address some years. They do not request the ID documents.
Thinking about opening a Barclays e-Save Reward because of the 50K guarantee.
Does anyone have any experience of opening one?
Been with Barclays for the last 40 years, so surely they wouldn't need ID. Although, I can pop into a branch with them if needs be.0 -
The only snag with Cov is they bring out new a/cs paying more int, that existing customers CANT switch to. IE if you had the old 60+ a/c you cant then switch to the 50+ when your "Bonus" time has expired. Very annoying.0

Went through the process of opening a Barclays e-Saver Reward but it only seems to let me open a joint one.
My current account with them is a joint one with hubby. I don't want to have a joint e-Saver because hubby pays 40% tax.
Can anyone recommend an e-Saver that the bank/BS can verify identity electronically?0 -
An ideal account for those who can't be bothered to move money in the chase for best rates every few months.0

I've just opened one as it happens. Just got letters today with account number, one asking for a cheque deposit to verify my linked account and another, triplicated  no less, in three separate envelopes  , with my bank details. You'd have though someone might have spotted three letters identicalAny comments on SAGA's online tracker account?

I'll now send a nominal cheque tomorrow, then, apparently, once verified, a username follows and an email with a security token. Then I can log-in with this info.
Thought it seemed quite good, but we'll see.0 -
A&L's internet saver at 6.6% is quite good too. No documents needed for new customers, at least for me anyway! Got details today.Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0

Yeh, Saga's process is unnecessarily long winded. Not as bad as YBS. I had to send utility bills as proof of address, and other ID. B&B were better, just required a passport number on the onlin form ans that was that.0

I just started to open an account online with this and got to the small print in Terms and Conditions.
I backed out when I spotted that the top 5 that they average from to get their own rate excludes all accounts that include a bonus element. It doesn't seem so attractive a prospect now.
