I try access my Kaupthing Edge account, and it says 'Your account has been disabled'. Has this been done to other account holders too?

You've locked your account by trying to log in with the incorrect password too many times. You'll need to phone them to fix this (good luck with that :money:).

I read everyones posts on here. If anyone has any answers to these, please let me know:

    1. I am assuming the interest rates of KE accounts with ING have not been changed?

    2. I understand from the recent email most cumstomers received that we are now with ING, is ING a good provider?

    3. I notice MSE have taken KE off from the top savings account, I guess thats because of the transfer??

    4. Lastly, I am sure no one can answer, but is our monies safe with this new provider?
Trinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!
  • Hiya all does this mean we will still use the Kaupthing website to manager our savings or will we all be ported onto a ING account and use their website?

Not yet. It's bound to happen though. I'm waiting to see if they honour my fixed interest rate of 7.15%, which was supposed to go right through until July next year. But the easy access account rate will drop for certain, I say.

Everybody in my office seems to think highly of them. I was a bit worried about them first since I didn't know anything about them, but I've only heard good things so far.

It says in the article that because of the transfer, they're going to wait a few days to work out what's going on. They might put it back up if the interest rate doesn't change.
    4. Lastly, I am sure no one can answer, but is our monies safe with this new provider?
It's covered up to €100,000 by the Dutch Government. How safe that makes it, is really up to you :-) Personally, I don't like the idea of not being covered by the FSCS here in the UK, so if ING won't honour my 7.15% fixed interest rate, I'll be moving my money elsewhere.

P.S. "monies" - what does that mean anyway?

For now, we use Kaupthing Edge still. I imagine if we ever need to start using ING's page, then www.kaupthingedge.co.uk will automatically redirect to the correct page, so you probably don't need to worry about it. I'm sure it will happen eventually, but probably not for months in my opinion.
You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.

The Kaupthing website has now already been redirected to ING website, as a Kaupthing customer, it seems we have completely lost access to our account, at least for the time being.

    That is not correct.

Go to the usual page and you will see that the KE branding has, by and large, been removed to be replaced by a ING message. However, the Log In button to access your account is along the menu bar at the top of the page and works by taking you to your KE account login page.

Think most people are using this page nzseries1 - hence my comment earlier about the 'Log In' link at the top of the page, many seem to be oblivious to it.

Woah, that page displays completely wrong to me - unreadable text, text displayed over other text, logos overlapping, perhaps that's why some people think they can't log on!

I have all the internet banking websites I go to bookmarked on their entry page, so apologies for not seeing that page.

Yes I find if I access it using Firefox, the text/links on the heading line overlap so the links end up pointing to the wrong entries

Its OK when I use IE, so what people see might depend on browser used and "pluggins/addons" etc
