Can anyone offer some real advice

Im looking for any one who can help me with some advice or help! I am in just over £10K WORTH OF DEBT, and joined CCCs last year after deciding it was getting to much, This i thought would be the end of my troubles, But even with CCCS i found they didnt offer much help I had to contact most of my creditors myself at the start and I was told by CCCS after 6 months that the creditors had infirmed them that I would not be paying anymore interest. This i am finding was a total fabrication and after a year of paying stuff off Im havent even made a dent in some of the debts.
Recently I started a new job and because i missed the pay date I was not paid and so informed CCCS of my situation ( that I couldnt pay for 2 months) They said they will contact the creditors...But I have started receiving letters from my creditors saying they have tried to contact CCCs but have had no response!! I have now broken my ankle and am off work for 6 weeks.
So now all I am getting paid is the minimum SSP of a massive £280 a month. I have rent of £550 to pay plus all my bills which total over £1000, I have been told I am entitiled to NO benefits as i get SSP! I cant possibly live off this money...... contacting CCCS once again and explianin my situation they told me to ring back at the end of the month to tell them i cant make a payment?????
Im getting so frustrated now as I have nothing to live on and have just received another letter to say that I may be taken to court if i dont repay as i have now missed payments, All this time though i was under the impression that CCCS where contacting them!...( they told me at the start that creditors should not contact me and if they do to contact CCCS) If any one at all canhelp me I would be totally gratefull as im now in a very desperate situation, and cant turn to CCCS as they are no help at all!

It sounds as if these letters may be automated ones. I would suggest writing to CCCS detailing your concerns about both the interest that they said had been stopped, but don't seem to be making a dent in the debts and also write to confirm that they have been in touch with the creditors regarding the current payment problems.
If you have been sending all correspondence you receive from creditors on to CCCS then they should be looking into it. No idea why they would have asked you to call again at the end of the month to tell them what you are currently saying.
Hopefully one of the CCCS advisors that visit this site may be able to offer some insight into what is happening. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

Hi
Thanks for your reply, I have been on the ohone again to them today, They are saying no to worry and to ring them again at the end of the month. I have also just found out that I was being charged £12a month for oneof the debts but was never written to about these charges?? Is that right? Im paying charges i knew nothing about?
I am now being threatned with court but CCCS are just saying that if that happens they will talk me through it! I said i needed help before this happens but simply cant find anyone out there that canhelp me, I am trying to pay these off but with the charges i knew nothing about it seems endless!0 -
That's twice i've hear this now from someone speaking about CCCS - ring back at the end of the month. Wonder what's going on there.
Tight, first of all they will probably need to know what your income, expenditure and debts are. There is a handy tool we use on the board for this - the SOA calculator (statement of afairs). You can post up the results if you wish and we'll try to see if there are any savings to be made from your expenditure.

As you are being threatened with court (sometimes this is included on automated latters and threaten with "may" do this or that), i suggest you request copies of the customer credit agreement if the account is for a loan or creditcard. It is a little more tricky to deal with if it is an overdraft - the CCA request won't work for that, but i'll give you the CCA details first.

Note - there was a change to the legislation which affects CCA's signed after 5th April 2007. Do you know when the agreement, if any, was signed? After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

George, I am having an appointment at the weekend with payplan, before I sign up, I want to write and tellmy creidotrs not to ring me at all, but only contact in writing. I dont want my kids answering the phone and taking messages from them. Is there a particular thing I need to quote or do I just write and ask? If they phone, do not answer any security questions but but inform them that all communication should be in writing.
I would advise sending them one of these letters.

Hi George
Thanks, Well The twelve pound charges a month one is from a bank account I had held from about 7 years ( from about 1997-2004), When it first all went wrong It was at £750 and went up to £950 with charges in about 4 months which i excepted as i hadnt been able to pay anything but then i started with the CCCS and now they have been charging the £12 a month but as I said no notification to me in the past 15 months, ( not did i get any when it went up to £950)
i HAVE ABOUT 7 CREDITORS ALTOGETHERS, And I have been paying £312 a month for the last 15 months ( I have actually missed 2 payments now) Due to different things but have said that they will recieve money soon and then a token payment in oct ( due to the SSP) but then will get there full payments in nov, But they ( creditors) have told me too late!....I feel annoyed as CCCS said they would ocntact them and they havent
Most of the aggrements apart from the bank account were all signed after 2004 as far as im aware. I also believe that i have insurance on one of them am I still liable to be paying this? I have missed payments.
The letter was silly as they said call us and we will accept payment plans which was rubbish as they said I had to pay of the arrears (£270) plus £91 ( my normal payment) now or I could oay them £2000 and they would clear £700 of the debt off, This was after i explanied that i was lvivng off £280! They just never listen!LOL
I will do the expenditure now thanks.0 -
HI george

I earn £1240 a month.....I do have a second job but havent started that yet due to me breaking my ankle! so i dont jhave much left to live on this was a expenditure done by CCCS I had to take a lot off as they said it was to high!0 -

Totally agree with that advice - I was answering calls several times a day, landline and mobile, until I got really distressed by it and spoke to National Debtline, who put it into perspective for me and reminded me that it was computer-triggered calling and the people you speak to have targets to meet (ie get you to cough up some money) and whatever you offer, they will push you for more etc. And yes, you need to communicate in writing so that you have evidence.
"Can I speak to Mrs Moneyless?"
"Speaking"
"Before I go any further, can you confirm you postcode"
"No. I am not willing to talk to you on the phone. I am dealing with this matter in writing." - and put the phone down.
You can block the numbers your mobile - so you don't hear it ring. I have had to leave my landline unplugged a lot of the time because I don't have call-screening.Debt free by 22 January 2009 - thanks to an unexpected inheritance - take heart - it DOES HAPPEN!0
