EGG (fixed?) savings help

Hello,
I recently applied to an EGG savings account when they had the 6.3% 1year fixed offer. It is now open and I started transferring money in it. However, when I read the acceptation e-mail or when I log in online, I cannot see any mention of the interest rate and if it's fixed or not! When I go to the account it just says "Account option: internet" and when I click on the "see historical interest rates", I cannot see any mention of the fixed rate option. Am I missing something obvious? How can I check my account interest rate?
Many Thanks in advance!
Philippe

Thanks for that! Still, would it not possible to check the interest rate of the Savings account you actually have?

I wrote them a secure message and the replied confirming that my account does enjoy the 6.3% rate until 08 Oct 2009.
  • So did I. They replied promptly. Remember these secure mails get deleted over time so remember to take a screen shot and hard copy, just in case.

  • hmm now I'm not sure what kind of account I opened. Checked my confirmation email and it was dated 10th October, but again I can't see anything about what type of account it is, either than 'internet'. Have mailed them. I can't even remember if I opted for the fixed rate or the easy access one!

I recently opened a new egg 6.3% fixed for 12 months.
Be aware that if you transfer money from an existing egg account into the new introductory 6.3% account you will NOT get this interest rate. It only pays this rate on NEW money paid into the egg from outside of egg.
So do not transfer from within egg.

I transfered money from existing egg to Halifax, then from Halifax to new egg account this will now be classed as new money.

So you got the fixed rate version on the very last date it was available... You will be on 6.3*%

[Copy the Email and print it off for safekeeping]

*Letters were sent out to customers who opened the account in May when it was fixed at 6.05% advising that they had been upgraded to the new higher rate of 6.3% for the whole 12 months - this letter should also be retained by anyone that got one - but I don't forsee Egg being at all difficult over this offer - it's very open and straightforward for those who opened account May to October

Oops, I clicked on thanks, instead of quote :o
Anyway, I beg to differ. I moved from old account to the new, and it was confirmed by internal message and phone call, that I will be getting the 6.3% rate.
