  • Nunnygirl i would re-make that appointment and see what the docs think. My bf is a gp and brothers girlfriend is a nurse, but i would still go to my docs to see what was going on. Hope they sort you out.

  • Hello everyone!

Not been around for a while- as some of you might remember I had an early mc just over a month ago and I just haven't been able to get my head round trying for a baby since then. I have been lurking though, so big congrats to those who've had their BFP- :T .

Anyhoo realised at the start of this week that AF was due somewhen between Monday-Wednesday but today realised that she hasn't arrived. I know it can take you a while to get your cycle back after a mc but for some reason (lack of will-power and big-time curiosity I guess) I just took an eBay cheapie test and got a BFP! It's the only test I have, so can't re-test to check but must admit I am a teeny bit excited! So typical as I have definitely not been in TTC mode this last month- had a few glasses of wine, plenty of caffeine, no folic acid....... I've also got back into the gym since the mc as I've found it a good way to unwind so hopefully that hasn't done any harm.

Sorry for the essay like post but I am shocked as we hadn't been trying, but haven't used protection either.

    Hi girls,

We are still using contraception at the moment as we don't want to officially start TTC until May. According to my DH this failed at the weekend (Saturday) which would have been CD13, I have no idea how long my cycles are as last month was the first off of the pill.

How quick do pregnancy symptoms start to show?

The chances that it I do fall pregnant this month are so slim but today I feel light headed and so tired. I'm sure I'm just making myself like it! Also I keep getting period like cramps.

I'm sure it is all in my head.

It's different for everyone to be honest. I'd say CD17 (today) would be very early to get symptoms, but then again I know people on here who have 'known' that early, IFYKWIM. They do say that tiredness is one of the first symptoms though!

Just as an FYI, I continued to get faint + on ebay cheapies a good few weeks after I had my ERPC/D&C as my HCG levels must have still been falling (had a blighted ovum at about 8 weeks and HCG levels well over 12000 then) so it will depend on how far along you were and how high the levels were as to when they will fall back to 0. Unitl then you will not ov. My first month after the operation was annovulatory due to the raised HCG level still in my system, the month after that I ov'd, but be warned, your hormones may be all over the place for a bit- I was getting preg symtoms that I had never got prior to getting pg that time to the extent I was completely convinced I was pg again in Dec and lo and behold I wasn't, cue major disappointment just before xmas, fun!

Do you know if you ov'd this month? If so then your level will have dropped already and the BFP may be true- I didn't want to rain on your parade so to speak, only wanted to make you aware of what can happen from my experience.

Thanks for the info, honey. I got a BFN straight after the mc (with eBay cheapie test also) so know it's not that. I was only 5 weeks when I mc'd so HCG wasn't that high. I *thought* I had OV'd as had usual symptoms (slight ache and EWCM) but I wasn't tracking so wasn't 100% certain.

Will do another test with first urine of the day tomorrow to be more sure. Funnily enough I've had no preg symptoms except being really tired- so tired that I said to OH that I'd only felt like that before when I was pg! Only said it flippantly though!

Will keep you all updated x x

Wow good luck to nikkinoo and got-it-spend-it, you are both sounding positive.

Sorry B2B-2008, i can't help with the symptoms, but i suppose you will just have to wait and see, I do believe they can start at any time, but 7-12 days after OV is more regular.

Wow i hope we have a few more BFPs this month, it is all very exciting :)

  • OOo Good luck B2b, but in my opinion that would be a bit early to get symptoms although it can happen. With my DD I didn't get any symptoms until I was 6 weeks pg.

Welcome GISI and good luck with your BFP, I really hope it is all good this time.

Well, we tried to bd loads but missed the most fertile time as we are moving house and completely worn out. You never know something might have happened, but I am not holding out much hope this month!

Love and hugs and sticky baby dust to everyone.
