New bed for little on

I want to avoid a foam matress. I was keen on a single to begin with, but OH fancied a junior for the simple reason that it would go in the hole where her bed in now. I wanted a single because it would kill two birds with one stone. However, OH couldn't find a cheap junior with a sprung matress.
The little toad still curls up into a ball and dents a foam matress. So that's really a no go really.
I don't intend to get an expensive matress, but it has to be a sprung one really. Foam just isn't going to cut it.
Thanks for the advice. You confirmed what I thought anyway. Just have to find a cheap bed now.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

Good luck with the hunt. DD is in a cotbed atm and she's 4 1/2 now... We will be buying her a high sleeper with a tent underneath for christmas... She has a really big bedroom but there is still no room for all the teddies she has amassed...
I would of been happy leaving her in the small bed until her feet touch the end but with a new baby on the way we'll be needing the cot next year and would rather make the switch over now than make it seem as if DD has to give her bed up for the baby... we bought a toddler bed from mothercare for my middle son whe he was about 18mths -2yrs, which he had until 4 then we bought bunkbeds ready for my youngest to go in when he came out of his cot, so my youngest went straight into a normal single bed.
The toddle bed cost up £125 for two years use, and now its stuck in our lost ready for when my baby niece is big enough, but i don't think that their worth the money.0 -
Is a 'junior bed' different to a 'shortie bed'?
They are 2ft 6 inches wide but came in different length sizes and had different storage solutions underneath them, either drawer/s or slide storage or no storage.
I was considering a shortie bed earlier this year for 5yo dd due to space issues in her room, but in the end buying a tall narrow chest of drawers to hold her clothes in instead of a wardrobe sorted it and I kept her in her standard single bed.
She did used to sleep in a cot-bed, but though wonderful for more space, it wasn't sturdy enough for me to sit and read her a bed-time story on or to get in with her for a cuddle if she was ill. We also have occassional friends/family stop over so needed a bed an adult could sleep on for that.0
