Budgies and ultrasound

Hello,
I have two lovely budgies, healthy and chirpy, about 6 year old. They've never been ill in any way.
Yesterday I found tell-tale signs of mouse presence in my flat
, and I'm thinking of installing those plug-in ultrasound mouse/rat repellents. These devices emit ultrasounds between 30,000 and 60,000 Hz, audible to rodents but not to pets such as cats and dogs.
The instructions on the packs which I have seen nor those I found on the net don't mention effects on other small creatures such as birds, but just to be on the safe side can anyone tell me if these devices would be safe to use around budgies?
Thanks.
ETA later - spoke to a friend who said his neighbour recommends it.

Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.

I've got an ultrasound thingy, and I have 2 birds. Both birds are fine
The one I got did specifically say it was safe for birds though.

Oh thanks juno. I was on the phone a while ago and a friend says his neighbour has plugged one that sends electromagnetic signals through the wiring and clears walls and floors of rodents, and has also an ultrasound component but that needs clear space around it so he has some extra ultrasounds plugs around the rooms.
I take it you are free of mice now?
I accept loaner's comments, but his advice stil entails dealing with mice once they are in the house, and before doing that I really prefer to try something that keeps them out in the first place.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
I have this one. It's ultrasound and electromagnetic in one. And no, no signs of mice
I don't have budgies, though. I have a lineolated parakeet and an Amybird.
Aww those parakeets are so lovely :A. They're about the same size as budgies so I think my Molly and Billy will be ok if your is. No idea what an Amybird is. Google throws up lots of other stuff but not er.. feathered birds..Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
This is an Amybird. I have no idea what she is, but she's a bird and called Amy (well, she might be some kind of finch).Murphy's No More Pies Club #209

Soo pretty and sweet, bless :A
I've had budgies for many years and my first pair lived to a ripe old age. The male was 12 and the female 14. I must be doing something right then.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
Hiya,
I have just seen amybirds piccie and I think she may be a green finch canary. I have a bird that looks just the same, Chico was sold to me as one! He is a beautiful singer. So far as I know only boy canaries sing so if amybird sings you might need to change her name!0 -
You gave the impression that you already have them inside, which is why I suggested a trap. How is a noise going to stop them getting in.
electromagnetic fields, sounds like pseudo science. Just because a product is on the market, doesn't mean it is effective.

They have just started coming in. The ultrasound is supposed to stress them so much that they just go away. The product has been recommended to me by someone who was in my situation and now is not. He installed these devices and within a week all traces of mice disappeared and they haven't come in since.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
Thank you loaner. Evidence and studies and research are very interesting, and so are the direct experiences of other people...
