    Recently viewed a retirement flat with a relative, the agent spent the whole time we were viewing on his mobile about something else! Then drove off in his black 'sporty' company car. Might be OK when times are good, wonder if this sort of behaviour can do well it times like now.

    Not me. They're horrible jumped-up little oiks. Their days as property pimps are over, they need to go out and get proper jobs like the rest of us

    You know what.....attitudes like yours really grate on me and I hope that you never find yourself in a similar position as trust me it is not nice.

    I've worked hard all my working life as an EA and now through no fault of my own I find myself potentially out of a job and incredibly stressed and thoroughly mentally and physically drained from working 50-60 hour weeks to try and earn money so I can keep a roof over mine and my Daughters head. I now have to make a decision to leave a job, which I love and I'm good at, to start all over again doing something new.

    You are an idiot and hope you are proud of yourself for that comment!
    My home is usually the House Buying, Renting and Selling Forum where I can be found trying to (sometimes unsucessfully) prove that not all Estate Agents are crooks. With 20 years experience of Sales/Lettings and having bought and sold many of my own properties I've usually got something to say ;)
    Ignore......check!
  • Oh and before you all start jumping on the bandwagon with your sarcastic comments about EA's perhaps take a second to realise that we are not all the same!

    did they feel sorry for the priced out ?

    why have these people not saved for a rainy day or two because they have had it bloody good for ten years..the party is over...get used to it..
    It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
    Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
    If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
    If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
    If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

    Very good point, doubt if many gave a moments thought to those priced out or problems caused by the house price boom during the boom years.

    MONEY, MONEY, MONEY !!!
    DEAL, DEAL, DEAL !!!

    The house price boom & property speculation has decimated this country.

    Right you twit. What do you expect them to do? They are just doing a job, which involves marketing properties at prices acceptable to seller, and buyer. They take a commission on the sale, much like any business expects to make a profit on whatever commodity they are shifting.

    Oh yes - they are hated. By those who also hate traffic wardens, double yellow lines, caravans, bankers, immigrants, politicians, immigrants, scroungers, etc.

    They are just normal people doing a normal job. Just like the rest of us - either selling, or making, or servicing things. It's what passes for an economy. We can't all be !!!!!!! nurses or saints you know.

    No but I could still get u a job as a docker!
  • The thing is though they just tell out and out lies ALL THE TIME.

    Even before they meet you

    Quasi semi = terraced

    Cottage = terraced

    Mews = tearraced

    Yhey are all f'ing terraced you lying t***!

    The 'its a good time to buy' line .

    No its not, its the single worst time to buy in the history of planet earth.

    Good thread about estate agents lies here http://www.housepricecrash.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=90768

    We all have our 'fetishes' in life I cant abide by liars at the best of times but people who lie to get money are criminals.

    Now lets move on to STUPID!

    Any person stupid enough to not see the house market was going to collapse deserves all they get. If I had been an estate agent over the last ten years I'd have put half of my money in the bank, because it was obvious what was going to heppen and the house market will not be rising significantly for another ten years minimum.

    Good things NEVER last!

    Does the Rolls Royce dealer feel sorry for me because I can't afford one? No, why should he?

    Hope all you sneering lot have saved for a rainy day - the black clouds are gathering for everyone, not just estate agents.
