Boycotting Iceland
Comments
-
Like all other savers with Icesave i'm !!!!ed off with Iceland, not the people though, their govt, who I think have acted and are still acting despicably with some of the things they did and said.
I can understand some peoples anger and thoughts on a boycott but I won't boycott Icelandic goods as at the end of the day it's only going to hurt the ordinary guy in the street0 -

Nail on head. Save your energies for better-intentioned actions, rather than trying to harm those you don't even know.0 -
Why don't you save your anger for the idiot bankers (Icelandic, British, you name it) who have got us all into this mess.
I've been to Iceland and it's a wonderful place, I feel extremely sorry for the general population there at the moment. I have/had (??) £9k in Kaupthing which I am assuming I will get back but to be honest even if I don't, that's a drop in the ocean compared to what might happen to Iceland through no fault at all of the vast majority of Icelanders.0 -
understand your country's history, the ‘Great’ in Britain simply means Big or Large as in ‘Larger land of the Britons’.
....as opposed to 'Little' Britain, which is Brittany in France.Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.
Before I found wisdom, I became old.0 -
Out of principle, I will be boycotting Icelandic produce as will my business.
Does anyone know what products come from iceland?

Grow up Babycakes, just remind me what business you are in so I can advocate avoiding!0 -
Inflation over the last few years has wiped out many benefits of the falling krona (check your spelling, krone is scandinavianOddly enough, Iceland (cheap chips) is owned by Iceland (Volcanic island).
I have always wanted to visit Iceland (Volcanic island), with its thermal spas, geysers, lunar landscape, and the chance to see the Northern Lights, but until now its been horrendously expensive. With the collapse of the Krone, it should be quite affordable now.
Not sure how welcome Brits would be right now though!
). I think you'll continue to be warmy welcomed but should expect some very dry humour. Drink and laugh away your money together.
OP - whatever are you likely to want to boycot? Dried fish? Smoked puffin? Whale pepper steaks? Brennivin? All things we used to buy every day, I'm sure
Or perhaps we should just all stop going to our local chippy, cos that's mostly Icelandic cod you're eating - much simpler. You've never seen me, but I've been here all along - watching and learning...:cool:0
