I've been boycotting Iceland for as long as I can remember. Hate the place and what with Kerry Katona advertising for them I dislike them even more.I work for an IFA and can provide guidance on pensions, savings, protection and investments. What guidance I do provide should not be taken as advice. If you are in any doubt I suggest you speak to your financial advisor or, if tax related, a qualified accountant.0

How childish ,have you any idea of the devastating effect this crisis is having on the ordinary and may i add totally innocent Icelandic family.Nationalism is an infantile disease. It is the measles of mankind. - Albert Einstein.

Have you any idea how devasted 300,000 innocent individuals including the elderly, were on Monday? Thats almost the whole population of Iceland.0 -
there is VERY little sympathy shown by their PM, government, or the people of Iceland for any savers in this country or the Netherlands.
i think Gordon Brown and Alastair Darling were absolutely right to be so quick off the mark (makes a nice change ), use any powers necessary, and can also understand why some 'ordinary people' may agree with the OP
Be patriotic, start a bonfire today in the hope of raising global warming and melt their igloos, i say!!
just kidding

I was one of those 300000 innocent individuals but I still don't see the point in taking it out on the population of Iceland
It was politicians (that's UK and Iceland) who saw no need for regulation and bankers who thought buying billions of pounds worth of junk bonds was a good idea"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."

Indeed, it does seem a rather juvenile idea.Stompa0 -

Yes i have,
I have substantially more than the the £50,000 limit saved with icesave and am extremely grateful for the chancellors bail out.
However, just exactly what do you wish to achieve by potentially hurting the ordinary innocent icelander?
It seems quite unpleasant to me.Nationalism is an infantile disease. It is the measles of mankind. - Albert Einstein.
