Cancelling TalkTalk during trial period.

Hi, hope someone with experience of this can give me a bit of guidance.
After a lot of trouble getting the service set up, I asked Talktalk to extend my 30-day trial period, which they agreed to, so that I now have 5 days left before the deadline.
I have an orange mobile contract, & they do a good all-in offer which I asked them about moving to. I discovered that I can't go straight to them - I have to have a BT line, & if I go back to BT I'd be in a 12 month contract, with cancellation charges to move to the Orange bundle. However they also do broadband home starter FREE if you've got a mobile contract, keeping the line rental with BT. So that seemed the way to go.
Yesterday I called BT & asked about re-establishing line rental with them. That was all OK, but takes 11 working days - won't be 'live' till 28th.
So, my question is: if I contact TalkTalk now, saying I want to exercise my right to cancel, will they cut me off straighaway, or can I ask them to keep me connected until the last day of my trial period? Obviously I don't want to be without service any longer than necessary, but I'm worried about leaving it till the last day of the trial period to tell TalkTalk!
Sorry for the saga, but you can understand that I don't want to ask TalkTalk about this directly.
Many thanks for any info.

Due to you being in your 30 day trial, when you cancel TalkTalk will just advise you to approach BT and them to take the service back ie your line rental, once BT do this then your service will be cancelled with TalkTalk.
This way you won't end up losing any service as it will just be one taking over service from the other.Currently takling Barclaycard - £67/£350Debt free date October 2014:jDoing it for my girlies!!:j38lbs lost in 2011SW for May 8lb/7lb0 -

Thanks for your input. I've taken the plunge, told them I'm cancelling but I don't feel confident that it'll all go smoothly - I've had so many unkept promises...
Also, they will owe me money & although I've been told it'll be paid back I'm not holding my breath!0
