  • Ooh - good ideas. I'll divide it up and try these suggestions. Thanks.

Curry goes well parsnips in soup - maybe worth trying a small amount at first - so as not to over-do it.
  • I put ginger in mine - grated fresh in with the veg, then powdered to taste before it's served.

  • OK - I tried the suggestions. Balsamic vinegar made it slightly sweeter, but it seemed to look a bit "curdled". Tasted nice though. Nobody here likes nutmeg, so didn't have any to hand. Son came in whilst I was "dry roasting" the cumin seeds - " crikey Mum, what's that 'orrible smell?", so didn't go much further with that one - but I did have some chopped chilli - it was OK, but still something missing I'm afraid.....Curry paste, that's probably the one for me, but DH has just tasted the ginger one and has voted that his favourite so far.....Have had enough of Apple and Parsnip soup now - so it's all going in the freezer for another day! Cheers everybody!

    Hi cat,

There's an older thread with lots of recipes that should help so I've added your thread to it to keep all the replies together.
