If you still love it then there's no reason for you to go and get a 'proper' dress - dresses don't have to be traditional to be beautiful. As long as you like it then it doesn't matter whether it's from Monsoon, Alfred Angelo or Chanel! x0

I'm getting a monsoon wedding dress! Hopefully in the January sales.

I looked at the monsoon wedding dresses and they were lovely, but unfortunately I needed something with sleeves and they were all sleeveless.
If you love it and feel comfortable in it then it ticks all the boxes. You could end up with a 'proper' wedding dress that doesn't suit you at all!Mummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0 -

Hi
I also have a Monsoon Ivory wedding dress, you know it's lovely we are getting married next Saturday and i've added a shawl as it just has spaghetti straps. But i also had a freak out last week that it wasn't weddingy enough I tried it on but i was having a fat and ugly day so felt hideous in it but now i've calmed down tried it on again and have fallen in love with it again (i think that it was stress making me crazy).
But looking at the dresses on here hasn't helped as everyone seems to have gone for very traditional dresses, but then i have to remember we are not having a tradtional wedding so i would have looked very out of place in one!!!!
This is my second wedding and on my first one my mum and I went to proper wedding shops and they left me in tears as the assistants were awful, was told by one that i was too fat for the dress i wanted and i should get married in one that looked like a hideous tent (i was size 18 then hardley the fattest women on earth) i ended up having one made that was lovely but this time i stayed well away.
Don't worry you will look great in your dress, good luck.

Don't worry about the dress not being weddingy enough - you chose it because you love it and that's what counts.
When I got married I chose a dress for my wedding from a posh frock shop - I fell in love with the dress and it certainly wasn't weddingy at all - despite it being a soft ivory colour. I wanted a dress that I could wear on other occasions and have worn it at least 40 times since, sometimes it is better to buy a dress that you can wear several times rather than spending thousands on a dress that you can only wear once. Friends and family who got married spent thousands on their dresses which are now packed in boxes in the loft - unloved and unworn since their wedding day, they all wish that they had done what I did and got a dress that they could wear over and over again.
You will look beautiful in the day.0 -
My dress is not from Monsoon, but it's that type of thing. It's not a wedding dress, but it is a lovely posh frock, in ivory, ankle length, empire line, tie back and lots of beading.
It's not my usual thing, wouldn't normally be seen dead in a pale coloured dress, and I don't normally like empire lines either, but I look and feel great in it!!
It cost me £31, reduced from £85. Who cares if I never wear it again at that price!?
I too have plenty of time before I get married, but I have no doubts that the dress I have will do the job beautifully.0 -
Wear what you want to wear - I agree about spending loads on something you'll never wear again my dress is still in a bin bag on the spare bed 2 months later.
I was going to have a monsoon dress but they were sooooo long on me it would have ruined it.
I went very traditional in the end which even surprised me (and my mother) but it kind of fitted the venue and the type of day we had. If you feel comfortable and you love it why worry what anyone else thinks?Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

I've got a Monsoon dress for my wedding.... got it half price in sale in July:j
It is from the bridal range.... but I think its more bridesmaid than bride as its pinky purply. I have had a few "moments" when I have a tiny teeny bit regretted getting it but tried it on again today (to check it matches my flowers) and I love it!:D It's a really great length which I wanted as I'm tall.
I don't do "normal" so don't think I will regret not having a proper wedding dressBLOWINGBUBBLES:kisses2: SMARTIE120
