If you're happy with Freeview what does the Virgin package offer that makes it worth the extra £9 per month? (or extra £5.66 per month if you don't use the £3.33 mobile credit?)

Thanks Peachy, but I dont think BT are as good as they used to be and ill get it in the missuses name so the credit check shouldnt be a big problem.

Im waiting for my MAC code atm, so I expect a phone call from BT with everything miracously (sp!) sorted out. O2 look ok too, but although my mobile is O2 payg, I dont put £10 per month on it, so I dont think I will be eligible for the existing customer discount!!!

Its a good job o2 only ask you to put £10 on every 3 months then!
Discount for Pay & Go customers subject to £10 minimum top-up every 3 months. Fair usage policy applies.

Hardest bit I had was getting my mac code of sky as trying to understand someone who didn't speak very good English was bound to end in disaster so I managed to get it email and sent to me in the post just to confirm it.

Apart from that switching was easy for me I did it all online in about 10 mins if that and they kept me up to date via txt on my phone.

You even get to choose what day you want your to arrive on txt if the day suggested is not suitable.

If you use a mac code then not at all really.

You get ur new router in the post before ur switch over date and usually around midnight sky will cut off so all you do it plug in your new router and away you go.

Its literally a switch over service with the only down time being switching routers.

Personally I prefer using Three. £15 per month. Put your postcode in the link here:

Just plug in the device to any computer.

But that's mobile broadband which has a ridiculously low download limit every month.

Sure its good if you are on the move a lot or don't have a phone line but personally for me here I actually found the 3 one to be complete rubbish due to a poor signal.
  • Hi,

I have heard nothing but good things about O2 really so you could do a lot worse.

Unlike Orange, you should be able to qualify for the £7.50/month price being a PAYG mobile customer.

They are kicking **** in various reviews too at the mo. Only think I would say in Virgin's favour is that I pay for 10Mbps and get 9.7Mbps - you won't get 8Mbps or near with O2 (although you might get 6 or something).

    :-)
