    Daytona - you may have to work well past 60 if you need to rely on the state pension as well. They are gradually upping the retirement age.... - agree about the government, but I think they are all c**p to be honest!

    My only chance of retiring at 60 is a lottery win, and that isn't likely :o

    I don't want a huge lot. Just sufficient to be comfortable, have a holiday each year and my aims are quite boring to some, but I would love a dog or two and take water colour painting lessons and as a self confessed bookaholic - I would read and read and read!!!

    I won't be relying on the state pension. I'll get the bare minimum anyway as i have a company pension.

    I'm just interested to see how little the government will give me as thanks for forty odd years of paying NI.
