Renting your House for Ryder cup - Anybody got booking yet?

We registered our with rydercupwales2010 co uk and we had an email from a chap in Ireland who has now booked it. We had the money transfered to us for the deposit yesterday.
We used this company as the chap who runs it lives in Newport so knows the area etc. They also are realistic about the money you can make from your house. We were seeing houses like ours being listed £15k+ for 2 weeks. No-one would rent a house for that much for 2 weeks when the event itself is only 3 days (6 if you include the practise days).
This firm recommend £120 per person per night so we listed our 3 bed house (sleeps 6) for £5000 for the week. It was listed for just 2 days before we had let it. Not bad for £75 (which wasn't the cheapest listing) to get £5,000 back. We are going to stay with my sister for the week and will give her £1000 for her trouble - everyone wins!!
We are delighted and I think it is down to being realistic about the asking price. When some people want £15k+ for a 3 bed house - who can afford that? It would be cheaper to stay in Birmingham Hotel and get a helicopter transfer each day!0 -
Still no established MSErs with bookings then? I have just had a look at the rydercupwales2010 website and it does look good and not badly priced at all. I really really want to go for this but I cannot afford to lose £60-£100 on advertising and getting nothing!!!0

Tickets for this event are rarer than hen's teeth and probably go with hotel packages so there can't be many people out there looking for places to rent. You wouldn't rent a place without having a ticket would you?...0

Ryder Cup Accommodation 2010 : I have advertised and paid on several sites and nothing... no interest at all! I know it's Oct this year but hey that's only a few months away now.
Seriously though don't pay to advertise your property it's just not worth it, lots of sites asking for £100 to advertise, don't do it.
Plenty of free sites to advertise on out there, just Google "Ryder Cup Accommodation"
And don't go asking for £10-15,000 quid either it's just not going to happen! There are people out there hyping it all up saying they rented out their property for £20,000 I just don't believe it.. seriously!0
