I live in Monmouth, do you think I could rent out my 3 bed? How do you work out how much to ask for it?

Not sure how to work out how much - I guess you just pick a price similar to the others.

Theres quite a few websites advertising house.

Strangely though, it looks like prices on the dunbar website are a bit lower. MAkes me wonder if this is the genuine thing that does get bookings whereas the rest are just people being greedy but not getting bookings.
  • I received a booking for my house for the Ryder Cup 2010. I advertised under the £2k per person sharing price though. I placed my 5 bed on accommodationfortheevent.com firstly because I saw them in the "Greens and Dreams" Golf magazine. Secondly they are naturally top ranked on Google for 90-95% of all terms, not just the one you mentioned. And thirdly even the "One Show" on BBC thought they were the best as they only really predominantly showed the accommodation for the event site website. I found this on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSPId6P7uRw
This website does its job and I am very happy with our outcome - here are some stats on their 2006 page: http://www.accommodationfortheevent.com/rydercup/2006/
  • I have received a number of enquries for my home, I hope to have it booked up within the next few weeks. I used the site www.ryderrentals2010.com. Their prices were reasonable and when I spoke to their staff the focus seemed more on actually getting the houses rented rather than just racking up loads of houses

I have just visited the website above and am having trouble with pictures not loading and the site is not being displayed correctly which has put me off advertising with them. Anyone else get these problems?
2010 Wins: Benecol Bag For Life, £150 FCUK Voucher, Rimmel Foundation, L'oreal Mascara, £60 worth of hair products, £100 :j
  • I had the same problems with www.ryderrentlals2010.com . There are loads of websites out there offering similar services. I was going to advertise on https://www.accommodationfortheevent.com because they seem to have the most exposure but i'm not sure if the prices are actually realistic??
Has anybody rented their house out? If so what is a reasonable rent and who did you use? So far I have found these websites below. Who to choose??

Yeh, I'd be interested to hear from anyone whos actually got a booking too.
  • My house is successfully rented for the ryder cup 2010. My house was advertised on accommodation for the event since november 2008. The main reason why I advertised through this site is because they have great natural results in google for phrases like ryder cup accommodation , ryder cup house rental etc. I've been through the complete process so if anyone wants any advice I'm happy to help.

    Holly,

Wheres your house? How big? And how much have you rented it for?
  • Sorry to be the voice of pessimism here, but has anyone actually had a booking? It would appear that a number of posters on this thread have only made one post, or the majority of their other posts are also concerned with Ryder rentals.

I'd bet that there are a lot of scammers out there developing websites to fleece home owners keen on making money out of the Ryder Cup, and hope that people are researching very carefully before handing over details.

It would be nice to see if anyone actually has had a genuine booking though!

My point exactly. There seems to be tons of websites out there charging £100 or so to advertise your house. Nice little earner, advertise 100 houses for £100 each - who cares if they get booked or not?

I'm not going to part with my cash unless I can get some proof that the bookings are being made....
