Im trying to raise money to take my parents away on holiday, since they came to London 21 years ago my dads never had a holiday, actually never been out of the country!!

Gosh it has been ages since I was last on here, have been so busy each evening on eBay that I havent had the chance to come here for a week or so.

Good news, I managed to sell of a ton of clothes and raised £700 to take me, my brother and parents away to Barcelona! :T And we are going next Sunday for 3 days :D I had to put in £100 of my own money as the holiday actually cost £800 !(I cant believe expedia charges around £22 if you pay by credit card, but then gives you no alternative option to pay buy debit, so you HAVE to pay the £22 charge!). Plus I will have to put some spending money aside but and hoping my sisters and parents can help with that.

I still have a suitcase of clothes to eBay, so will be working on that when I get back from my hols.

Didn't get anything on over the weekend  so have stepped up my challenge to 10 items per day this week to teach myself a lesson!! :rotfl:

wow thats really good!! How long did that take you & are they designer labels or high street brands??? Did you start all at 99p or did you do any buy it nows???
Just wondering as I have lots to ebay?

    Hi gingababe
it took about 5 weeks to sell it all, roughly 80 items, I literally got home fr work and was hooked on my laptop for 2 hours each evening. It was all high street stuff, mainly topshop, my bestsellers were monsoon although I don't own a lot of monsoon clothing (very expensive new) the monsoon stuff was dresses I picked up from car boot sales for around £3/4 and sold on for £15, all my items were auction and would only offer buy it now if someone asked. Most of my buyers were international too, one bought 12 items for £160!

I started my items at all different prices and only if they didn't sell after relisting then I would sell it at 99p

hope that helps, at the moment I'm finding eBay extremely slow had 45 items listed last week and only sold 4 in the end, think my luck has run out!
  • Wow china-doll, that is amazing and an inspiration! I have listed all my "easy" items but have a big box of clothing to list - have been putting it off for a while now, but tomorrow i'll start listing!

Got 4 items ending tonight, fingers crossed I can raise a bit of good cash - and hope that they pay up!

  • Hi guys, just a quickie, I sold my first item and have recieved my first payment today which is very exciting. Now i have to post the item (aftershave) to the buyer and im a bit hesitant! i have bubblewrap and jiffy bags but would you advise on buying a rigid box to help prevent breaking the bottle? and what stops the buyer claiming it broke anyway?

Have a look around your home to see if you have a rigid box that you can reuse....you can then wrap bottle with bubblewrap or tissue paper and put it in the box.

Saying that I had some perfume delivered in a jiffy bag and it was fine.

Well done on your first sale!

Nothing stops a person claiming it's broken except morals. Make sure you get a proof of postage although I'm not sure if glass is covered under normal postage. Soolin should be able to clarify is she is around.

(Have been really naughty today and instead of studying or eBaying I have been playing Farmville on Facebook - must get a life! :rotfl:)
