It will be interesting to see what they say, though I would have done it through a phone call rather than a email, if your email has gone into their spam folder then you'll never get a reply. You've heard the budget speech now you've been told. Even if you are working you should ask your dentist for an HC1 form. Fill it in and send it back.
My partner and I both work in Scotland, but are on a low wage, and we both got an HC3 certificate sent to us through this scheme. As a result I have just been to the NHS dentist and had a check-up, a hygiene appointment, 5 teeth removed, 3 fillings and a partial denture fitted, all for £24. My partner has had an abcess removed, an old bridge removed, a temporary bridge fitted and then a permanent new bridge fitted, then a hygiene appointment all for £24.
We didn't think we could get help under the NHS low income scheme, but we could!
Details about English, Scottish and Welsh schemes diretly from the NHS website at:

Thank You All.
Yes, actually I have tried all of that in the past. Because we have worked all of our lives and are in receipt of small company pensions we cannot claim a thing.
No Pension Credit, No Council Tax Relief. Nothing.
If I had never worked I would get the lot. FREE.You've heard the budget speech now you've been told. I don't know much about the policies and charges of dentists, but if I were boozercruiser, I'd be getting a new dentist as soon as possible. He sounds awful to treat you like that - anyone that hung up on me would certainly not be worthy of my custom...hope you have better luck with your next dentistAiming for that elusive 'debt free' by Christmas 2012

it wasnt the DENTIST that hung up, it was the practice manager.0 -
And you can't be sure they hung up: there may have been some other problem. Sometimes happens where I work, and if you don't know who it was on the other end, or don't have their phone number, there's not a lot you can do about it!Signature removed for peace of mind0

I would say she hung up because I could hear her sigh as if she was getting a bit rattled (I was just talking calmly.......honest) and then the line went dead.
Since then of course I sent her the E. Mail but I have not heard back yet.
If I do not hear soon I will call in and ask her if she cut me off.
Watch this space.
Thanks for replys and interest people. Very appreciated.:jYou've heard the budget speech now you've been told. I have just come back from calling in at the Dentist and asked the Practice Manager if she did indeed cut me off. She said "No I wouldn't do that". I said "Well why didn't you ring me back?" She said "We where really busy that day and I couldn't spare the time!"
Yes and I saw a flying sheep yesterday! (I live in Wales).
I said "Did you receive my E. Mail? and her answer was "Yes, and I have forward it on to head office (Denticare)
So right now I am going to add more to that E. Mail in view of some good advice I have had from this Forum.

I have just sent this to the Surgery.
By the way. If I cannot resolve my 'moans' then the neares Dentist is 30 miles away.
AND the practice comes under the Denticare umbrella
I am caught between a rock and a hard place!

Good Morning,
Further to my conversation with you earlier this morning during which you advised me that you have forwarded my previous E. Mail to a higher authority, I wish to add the following.........................
As stated previously the Dentist said to me that I should see a Hygienist. If he is saying that I need this treatment then I believe that this should be done under the NHS facility and not in effect advised to go Private for this Scale/Clean and Polish treatment I feel is needed at this time. After all, I am an NHS patient, not private.
On reflection a further observation is that for my last appointment in February I requested a Scale and Polish also, and all that happened was a quick scrape around the rear of the bottom teeth. Well short of what is normally expected.
Also, with great respect, I do not have any recollection of a BPE chart ever being done to grade the sextants of the mouth in order to decide properly what dental treatment I may require.
I understand that this should be done at regular intervals but know doubt you will correct me if I have my facts wrong.
Best regards
