Hi - I like it as

    Diced chicken
    Some mayo
Some curry poweder or curry paste (not curry sauce).
Tablespoon mango chutney (or apricot jam)

Sweet and savoury together. Apparently some people say it is common to eat uncooked spices - but I think it tastes great.

Common  So what does that make the white bread jam sandwiches I take to work in a Motherpride bread bag ?

My family thought Coronation Chicken was sophisticated - and chilli con carne.

Does it not sometimes have pineapple or sultanas in? I love fruit in savoury stuff!
  • Netto do a really nice one for about 99p ( I know, but I only buy it as a treat!)
It seems to have sultanas and flaked almonds and dried apricot bits in it.
my lot like it in pitta bread.

    Hi juststarting,

There's an older thread with some Coronation chicken recipes that should help so I've merged your thread with it to keep all the suggestions together.

Thanks but two whole chickens?! That's enough to feed an army! I just want to make a small bowlful for mine and OH's lunch! :)

    Thanks though!
  • Very simple one is - cooked chicken, mayo, mango chutney/apricot jam & curry powder to taste.

Thanks, there seems to be loads of different variations. Not sure I'm keen on the mango/apricot addition - or is that in all of them?

    Found this;

'I use chicken, mild curry powder and low fat fromage frais to make a very low fat version'

Very basic but perfect for me and OH on slimming world. Guess I could add sultanas and paprika to taste if necessary?

    Thanks for your help.
