I was going to pay my kitchen with a credit card. There was going to be 3% charge for doing that, so we didn't bother. I assume some double glazing companies would be the same.
We've just had double glazing installed last week. It's guaranteed for 10 years, but there's also a separate 10yr guarantee if they do go out of business. http://www.networkveka.co.uk/0 -
bought my kitchen mfi 27th sept they gave me quote i paid CC for deposit, remainder to pay (which will be CC) all added up to the penny no % charge.
sounds like very small outfit to me or they not prepared incur costs of CC company, but i for one using the £3000 windows as an example would cost £90 @3% to be safe or you would be more happy with losing £3000 hmmm i know where i would be with my bank balance and something to show for it.
Also if is on CC it becomes their problem and not yours try to recoup money would you like to pay solicitor to sort out with administrators and see x amount in the pound back if you are lucky.
sometimes you goto protect yourself that bit more the answer you have to ask yourself is could you afford to throw that money away with nothing to show for it?
anyway if they wanted to charge me 3% on top i would simply say show me the door order cancelled, you watch there backsides twitch and 3% charge dropped if they thought they would lose and order there not stupid especially in these financially tight times you forget its the consumer that has all the power.
i personally got a £529 dishwasher for £150 and saved including the dishwasher in the region of £1300 on the whole kitchen and they even chucked in a free 5 year guarantee on the units which is done by separate insurance and not the company itself. Sometimes its worth pushing all the way what you got to lose :money:0 -
