top outlet oil storage tank.

We need to replace our old metal oil storage tank. The plastic ones I've looked at can be either top or bottom outlet. I've only had experience of bottom outlet but the top outlet ones don't seem to have to be raised so would seem to make more sense. There doesn't seem to be that much diff. in price, but I can't find any info. about the relative merits of the two types. Has anyone out there had experience of a top outlet tank? Why don't more people have top outlet tanks, or are they just for certain types of boiler? I would be very grateful for any advice please - I would hate to get something unsuitable and make a very expensive mistake! ktj.
