Faster Payments Service - NOW

I was very impressed recently when I moved some money from HSBC to Lloyds. The money incredibly transferred within minutes! I can see though one reason perhaps for the banks' reticence is it means us consumers can now shunt thousands of pounds between them near on instantaneously. Imagine if the likes of Icesave had signed up - it would have been dry in minutes! (And what's even better is that FP are irreversible, so Icesave couldn't have blocked the withdrawals!)0

20th.
I haven't used it, but Lloyds telephone banking may be able to send the payment via Faster Payments.0 -
I have used it and the last 3 times it has worked - make sure you tell them on the phone that you want it to go by FP(assuming barclays are part of the FP system)Keep the Faith:cool:0

Hi -The heading on the post says Lloyds to Barclays
Oops! Missed that.
Lloyds' website says that FPS will go from their internet banking and telephone banking services, but I'm guessing it's not holding true for internet banking?
As for Barclays, all 20 sort codes (current accounts, deposits, misc.) are FPS enabled, but 23/25 are not as of yet (Barclaycard, loans, mortgages, etc.)What would William Shatner do?0 -
