Pay as you go itemised billing?

I am about to take on a new job and will only need a mobile for business purposes only (not personal use)

All my mobile calls costs will be reimbursed by my employer on production of an itemised receipt showing the calls made with date, time etc

I don't care what the call costs are per minute as I won't be paying them, but don't want a contract phone as my employer will not reimburse line rental

What's the best option? Is it possible to have a pay as you go mobile but be able to get an itemised bill

Any thoughts welcome
Thanks

If your employer says you need a mobile phone for business use, then he should be providing it.

withabix - it's a small firm, my choices are work without a mobile [which i could but would rather not] or use one i organise myself and recall claim the call charges for business calls end of story, it's the policy and right or wrong it won't change for me

jake - that would be perfect but is it still available i can't see details of a nil line rental option on virginmobile's website, probably just me being stupid though

basically either of these would work if they exist
    - a contract with no line rental and an itemised bill
    - pay as you go with itemised billing

I agree with the Virgin Mobile recommendation - you get itemized bills with their standard PAYG tariff, and no line rental charge. You can also arrange to pay the bills in arrears by direct debit so you don't have to mess around with buying top-ups.

They did stop operating in the UK because my husband and me were both with them, you had to either move to Fresh mobile or just get a new sim from another provider. I bet if they are back again they don't give so much free credit away this time, make themselves bankrupt keep doing that, i never had to top up because they were forever giving it away.
