Npower - so fed up with dealing with them

Thanks for the info re it being spam. I hadn't clicked on it anyway and certainly won't now.
I am tied in to npower till 2011 because I opted for a capped rate. I do wonder if I did the right thing now but it was being recommended all over the place at the time to do that. Hope it all works out and that I have made the right decision. Still no word though about my bill, paperless or otherwise. I can still log onto my paperless site even though I told them the other day to go back to paper bills.0 -
As i understand it can take a few days for changes like that to take effect.
Customer services request it, request is routed to back office, request allocated to someone, request processed by someone, request updates on system.
It's kinda silly.0 -
Not sure where to post this. My 79 year old mother changed from Staywarm to Npower last year. Her electricity was set at £40/month. She has now had a letter from them saying that she owes them £700 and that her direct debit is going up to £170/month. She lives alone in a three bedroom terraced house. I am going to talk to them tomorrow as I think this is too much to expect her to pay. They set the direct debit, they should have known if this was too much or not.
Any ideas or tips?0 -
Check the billing and the readings FIRST. If she had Economy 7, perhaps this is not being billed correctly? If the billing is wrong, get it dealt with. Only if the billing is correct should you waste effort worrying about the monthly payment.Fork_Handles wrote: »Not sure where to post this. Any ideas or tips? After the uprising of the 17th June The Secretary of the Writers Union
Had leaflets distributed in the Stalinallee Stating that the people
Had forfeited the confidence of the government And could win it back only
By redoubled efforts. Would it not be easier In that case for the government
To dissolve the people
And elect another?0 -
Thanks for the input. I will check out her bills.0

I spoke to several people at Npower today. Tried to explain that it was their fault that my 79 year old mum was allowed to run up such a bill with them. When she switched her payments were £80/month yet they set them at £40/month and kept them there for a year.
Was told that they review each account after 6 months, then a line manager said that they only do this after a year.
They have moved her onto a new rate where she also gets a £125 discount off her bill.
Her new direct debit is £122/month for the next three months then they say they will cancel what she owes. I am waiting to speak to them myself to get this confirmed. I had to go out this afternoon and so missed them, but this is what my mum says that they told her when they did call back.
