Banks don't use Bank Base Rate for setting rates, they use LIBOR.
LIBOR didn't fall 1.5% and is way higher than it ever used to be.
Make sense now?0 -

I know the libor rate didnt come down by 1.5% but it did come down (and is still coming down)
They should just make it clear what their goalposts are.
Ive had my account for a few years and up until this year (I think anyway) and it was always the case my rate would go up or down with the base rate.
Then earlier this year base rate went down, mine did not, then mine increased with no base rate change. And now this last rate cut with no change to mine.
All I want is a clearer understanding on
1. what it is based on
2. are we part of RBS or not
3. why the lack of communication
4. how can they still be making a profit as surely they should pay back the bail-out money0 -
