  • I withdrew £35000 from ICICI with a BACS last Saturday, it has arrived in my target account this morning. No problem with it at all and website no problem either for checking when payment had gone from "pending" to "processed" status. ICICI can't be doing too badly as they increased their stake of shares in a German company a couple of days ago from 91 to 96% (Hypo something or other). Shares went up 20 per cent this week, down 5% today, but I would not call that instability.
  • my broken fixed term bond monies arrived in my Lloyds TSB account this morning, must say i feel relieved. I've had no problems with ICICI apart from the crappy website, but I just feel better somehow. Have now transferred £25k to B&B Internet saver issue 3 at 6.52%.

frames1, what is the situation with interest when you bale out of a fixed rate ICICI bond?
My understanding it's different depending on whether the interest rate is 7.0% or 7.2%

Edit: LOL the website's down again !!!

well, mine was due to end at the end of January and it was only ever 6.8% to start with. I think she said on the phone, that it went down to 5.75% when I ended it early, I ended up with about £850 from £25k, so whatever that works out to be. I know it's a bit daft to lose all that interest, but I feel far better knowing it's back.

    Thanks for that.
5.75% is still a good deal, I thought it would be lower than that.

I have a £20k and a £10k fixed until July 2009 and will decide at the end of the week whether to close them, if I can get access to the site, l

The penalty rate depends upon when the fixed rate bond was set up. The complete list is here http://icicibank.co.uk/hisave_fr_interest_rates.html
  • i am staying put i have 30k with icici.
as previously said in forum your savings are as safe as any uk banks.
icesave was different as it was covered by 'passport scheme' means covered by foreign country (i.e. iceland).
as icici is protected by FSA same as hbos, nationwide. lloyds etc...
    so i am not worried.
i just never want to see the "my money is growing... keeps me happy..." guy again.

    mission accomplished.
