I used suction hook from B&Q, licked it first, pressed it on and days later and rain and it's still there, fingers crossed:D :xmassign:

I have a glass/ upvc door and had a similar problem. I tied a bit of garden twine to the wreath and then pulled this over the top of the door, tying it to the handle the other side. Looks fine and the door shuts ok. Very cheap too :)
  • I've used those suction hooks in the past for various things and not found them to be that great. Out of a pack of 8, only 2 / 3 stayed up for more than a few hrs, although one of those did stay up for months. But my friend has lots in her kitchen with all her utensils hanging from them and hers don't fall down. Maybe I was just unlucky with rubbish ones.

Note, they won't work if your glass is frosted / patterned and the non-smooth side is on the outside.
  • :xmassmile I'm a bit late for this year - but early for next. If the house number is screwed onto the door, tie a piece of fishing line to wreath, knot ends, loosen screws a bit, drop loop between numbers and door, tighten screws but not too much, blue tack back of wreath to door in 3/4 places to stop it blowing about and.........it works for me
  • Betterware or was it Kleeneeze do a wreath hook that goes on upvc doors. I got one and its great!
  • Hey folks, 12 years after it was first started lots of people are reading this thread at the moment.

Any more ideas to add to the mix? :)

I saw it on YT, they used one of those Command Hooks upside down on the inside of the door. Then use a ribbon as per post #8.

I also endorse the upside down command hook on the inside near the top of the door and then hang it over the top of the door on ribbon. Done it for years and it has never fallen off (or been pinched - which did happen once when I used to use a suction hook on the front of the door).

Giant suction hooks from Home Bargains pack of 2 for 99p. Run one under a tap to get it properly wet then press really hard to the glass on your door. Can take quite a heavy weight & stays on the door!
