I checked on Swinton and their quote was £3200  and Elephant as suggested by another OP £3865  - have just tried Churchill and theirs is coming in at £1600+ ......I cannot believe there is so much variation!0 -
as I said it does depend a lot on the vehicle etc.. I am afraid it really is a trial & error thing.Duct tape is like the force. It has a light side, a dark side, and it holds the world together."

I would be over the moon at that insurance- son was given a car, which was very lovely of the person but to insure it is £2200. its a 1.4 corsa. we are working up to changing it as it was a gift we don't like to look ungrateful so have took the bullet this year & hope the premium is lower come renewal. DD has been given a micra which is only £1000 to insure, so car type makes a big difference.
More to do with the contents of their underwear than the make of car;) .0 -

There's no magic bullet insurer as insurance is based on a variety of factors which are different for everyone. Use the comparison sites. See here for more info http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/insurance/compare-cheap-car-insurance0 -
Quinn were by far the cheapest for my 18yo daughter with a Fiat Punto.0

Try Tesco's own (not price comparison site) value insuranceI think....0

Only other thing to suggest is to get a car 20 years old and put it on a limited mileage classic vehicle policy. Something like a 1.6 litre Ford Sierra would (or at least was) cheap to insure when I passed my driving test.0
