Cheap Pay As you Go - Ikea & Asda

Hi all,
I currently have an o2 retention deal at £10 per month which is pretty cheap but after seeing Ikea family mobile & asda mobile i'm thinking of going pay as you go.
Ikea charge only 6p for texts and asda only 4p. Calls are cheap too.
Ikea also have no monthly top requirement - so depending on my useage (i mainly text my oh but have been working from home) a £10 top up may last a couple of months so potentially saving £60 a year.
Can't find any info on whether theres a monthly requirement with Asda. If there isn't, then its cheaper based on the low cost texts & calls. Does anyone know?
Anyone else have any experience with these deals?

Same here on O2 payg since the 1999 (Cellnet days) but now movd to IKEA, kept my number and got £20 for my first £10 topup. Mind you with my usage (£10 every 2 month) this should last a long time, quality is the same as o2.:money:Five exclamation marks the sure sign of an insane mind!!!!!

Is there any information about a minimum spend on the ASDA Mobile website? Answer, No.
If you need further information, why not ring up their very helpful Customer Services (on a Scottish island, I believe!).0 -
You need to make one chargeable call every 180 days,or top up your phone every 180 days.

Bought an Asda Sim card today, put in into a Vodafone locked Sony W880i and worked straight away, made and received calls no problem.
Even though ASDA use Vodafone network I thought you would need to have a Vodafone phone unlocked first, but this is not the case with my phone.
Hope this helps.:beer:0 -

Asda uses the Voda Network. Try their coverage checker.

Hi avantra, as you will see from my profile I now live in North East England so am unable to comment on your receptions problems. Hope the reception tracker link posted by jhp helps.
Still worth buying a sim card for 50p to try.:beer:0
