Bought Perfume & it smells awful. Now what?

I bought some Estee Lauder perfume from someone with good feedback and it came, nicely packaged and still in wrapping. However, it really smells rank and there's no way I can use it. I bought this perfume a few months ago from another Ebay seller and its lovely so I know how it should smell on me. Ive also tried testers in Debenhams. This one Ive just bought is either foreign bought perfume or its gone off!
Ive contacted the seller and she says it is a gift from someone who bought it locally, which I very much doubt. She says she can't refund because Ive opened it. Ive sent her an email saying I am returning it and want a refund as it isn't of a satisfactory quality and am waiting for her reply.
Is there anything else I should do? Should I start a Paypal dispute before its too late or should I wait to see what she says?

Have you compared the packaging to a shop-bought one? It *might* be a fake.My TV is broken!

Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
I'd say it could be a fake too - she could have bought it abroad somewhere!! Packaging could be good though, so you might also need to compare the Ph (acidity) of it to the original so see if it differes, or take it to the Estee Lauder counter in a perfume shop and ask them to smell it and clarify it's a fake.
You don't need to send fakes back in the post, as it's a criminal offence...Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Open an Item not as described dispute
Paypal will allow you to return for a full refund despite what the Seller says0 -
if you state in a paypal dispute that you think it is fake you will have 10 days to provide paypal with proof that it is fake.0

Take it to your local trading standards office they can confirm if it is fake and if it is they will confiscate the item and give you a receipt for it saying it was fake. You can then fax this to paypal saying it is fake so you cant return it then paypal will issue you a full refund (And best of all the original seller wont get it back to sell on to another buyer)0

How would I do that?
Take it to an estae lauder counter in a perfume shop for verification. I'm sure they'll sign something to say it's fake if you ask nicely.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')

i believe it needs to be from either the manufacturer or an authorised reseller, and must be on letter headed paper and faxed to paypal0

Ive started a dispute on Paypal and, after various messages between me and the seller, she has agreed that she will refund if I return the perfume and she can check it herself.
Should I just post it off? Isn't she just likely to say it smells ok to her and refuse to refund? Not sure whether to trust her now really.0 -
sounds like the seller is being ulta nice so that you return it with no fuss0
