Warranty Claim - Reg Vardy = useless

It doesn't sound right to me, that the warranty company can't reclaim the VAT. They have a reciept with VAT amount specified on it. I would have thought they can easily process that to recover VAT.
Perhaps a tax expert can say...or a phonecall to inland revenue will tell you.0 -
Pew Pew Has No Clue is a clueless moron. Ignore absolutely every bit of mechanical advice that clueless gimp says. Yes you can warp brakes. Your opinion is correct - that's a prime way of warping them along with seized calipers and prolonged braking. He's talking rubbish.
And if you want to argue, Pew Pew Has No Clue, I'm quite happy to stick up my CGLI in Repair and Servicing of Road Vehicles and years of experience as a mechanic in main dealerships anything you think you've had. Oh and you might want to tell a metallurgist you can't bend iron because it's a large flat disc, they obviously don't know as much as you appear to.
The juddering however can be caused by other things. If the bushes are worn in the track control arms, you get the same effect as warped discs which is why it's always a good idea to do a "run out" test on the discs.
Back to the warranty, brake pads are classed as a consumable item so no guarantees and virtually all warranties exclude them.
Yes, I appreciate that brake pads are consumable items. However, the warped disks seemed to tear through the brake pads in a month.
My argument is that they having 'worn' but have been destroyed due to the brake disk problem Worth a try anyway !!!0 -
Really surprised they paid out anything - usually most brake components are considered to be consumables and therefore excluded from warranty. Pads are cheap anyway0
