    When needs must.
Mine was worth about the same as yours but I sold it cheaper (OR aware) for £1,900.00 as I said above I was desperate.
Bought a £500.00 car tax/motd & it gets me around.

Sell the car then, even if you make £2k, buy a run around with mot and tax for around £1200 and then you have your fees and a bit over to see you by.

You can get a nice car for £1200 believe me, look in your local paper for private sales. But you have an asset to sell which would give you your fees, which many people have not even got, so I cannot see another way round this for you. A car is hardly worth sleepless nights and hassle, far better sold and you can then file for BR and sleep at night.

I am afraid I agree with Sunk and Rylynn. In the situation you are in you really do need to sell the car and get something a bit cheaper and use the rest for fee's. At £2500 the OR may want to sell it anyway and give you some for a cheaper car if you use it for work and take the rest for himself.

One poster on here sold her sofa, microwave and various other household items to get the fee's together quickly. She then got replacements off freecycle. Like Ebay where you 'bid' for an item you want, but if you are chosen for the item you then pick it up for free. It's a great system and you can pick allsorts up, for example I recently picked up 3 very large marrows :D.

https://www.freecycle.org and click on browse groups. Join all that are in your area. Make sure when you do the joining form you click on Daily Digest or you will be innundated with emails.

Ermm.....might I ask exctly what you're going to do with 3 ''very LARGE'' marrows !?? :rotfl: :rotfl: . The mind boggles !! :D . (Smut mode 'Off')

Ahem!!..... I agree that Freecycle is a great 'alternative' means to geting useful stuff. I've had loads of great stuff ! Only the other day,I got 2 virtually brand new low profile tyres. These are worth around £80/90 at least ! I've also got 7 internal fire doors and an oil storage tank recently. You do have to be quick off the mark tho'. I'm sure that there are 'dealers' on the network, just sat there waiting to grab all the best stuff !
Actually,I wonder if it might be possible to open a little shop, selling all the goodies that can be gotten from Freecycle ?? Not really in the spirit of the idea, but hey, when you are desperate......

Hmm! not sure what you mean by that comment Jayen ;) I am a lady you know :p

They have been a hit with the boys and will keep us going for a while.

I've also had dishwashers, tumbledriers, dining chairs, a rug, boys things and so much usful stuff.

I agree that there must be a few dealers and car booters who trawl the site. I always put the reason I need the item. Not a sob story and always say please and thank you. They are trying to instigate a 'fair exchange' policy on a couple of sites I belong to where the giver promises to wait 24 hours before choosing a recipitant.
