memory card to put the software on, software (tomtom mobile?). Bluetooth GPS unit and if you want to use it in care a in car phone holder.

Tomtom mobile comes on a memory card if I'm not mistaken, however, the 6680 will require a duel voltage reduced sized memory card.

  • Navicore runs better on the 6680 than TomTom, having had both on two seperate 6680s.
  • Navicore is a good recommendation. Also try Route 66. Both available at The Link for £199.99 (£149.99 when bought with a compatible phone on contract- or even free with some deals on the 6680).

The reason I suggest The Link is they can demo Route 66 (albeit on a 6630) in-store and this will give you an idea as to how it all works!

At Mobile level don't bother with tomtom.
  • tomtom mobile 5 runs fine on a 6680

Biggest problem with tomtom...on mobile and PDA (don't know on their stand alone) is the maps are not up to date.....and I don't mean recent changes, this can be from a few years :(

seen this problem a few times...just yesterday they tried to send me across a blocked railway level crossing in west wales which had been closed for the the last two years (as I found out from a local) :(

tomtom uses the same maps across all their range now (pdas/mobile and tomtom go)
everybodies maps will be slightly out of date unless you can get map updates as the maps are made well before release.

remember it is just a map, satnav will never replace the human brain. i use it as a mentor/second opinion, it often makes more sense than my passenger, who never could read a map. tomtom is hopeless in central london it seems programmed to find all the traffic blackspots.
