I have just switched my tariff with O2 from O2 Max to 200 Xnetwork and I have over 2000 minutes unsused. They are saying that if I do not use them by my next billing period I will loose them even though they have already been paid for?

Can they do this?

Any adivce would help

It varies between networks. Some rollover minutes only last one month; some for 2 or 3. And sometimes the minutes do not carry over at all on changing tariff; on Orange I got a credit back instead when I asked about it.

Am I correct in thinking that 1000 minutes was the standard on that tariff, in which case it sounds like you had two months in hand, not one? Perhaps you could check this, or have you had a month's rollover already?

Yes 1000 is the standard allocation of minutes per month but I have 2000 that have rolled over hence why I am lowering my tariff as I just do not use all my minutes.

I am going to call them and request a credit back as mentioned.. well if you dont ask you dont get right!

No network will refund you for not using your minutes. What I mentioned was on Orange as the minutes hadn't rolled over, and a credit for the cost incurred was easier than adding an allowance back on.

As I said, some networks rollover for up to 3 months, but if you haven't used them by then, they will be lost. Perhaps you won't lose them all in one go, but in 2 or 3 stages.
