The Icelandic government, believe it or not, have told me yesterday they have no intention of honouring their obligations here," he said. Sigur Ros is my favourite band but now I'm never going to listen to them. Or perhaps not.

If I was the Icelandic government in the current climate, I wouldn't even consider paying back British savers. The UK is in a far stronger position than Iceland to pay us back and though it's reneging on previous commitments, what is it supposed to do?
